Massa Marittima Trail Area joins the 2025 WES Calendar

WES Management is glad to announce that Massa Marittima Trail Area Round will host the grand finale of the 2025 WES season, scheduled for Saturday, October 11 with a single-race format.

Massa Marittima Trail Area is the latest, spectacular addition to the WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup Calendar. Located on a hill 380 metres above sea level and surrounded by medieval walls, Massa Marittima is a mix of historical significance with natural beauty, attracting bikers and tourists from every country.

Expert hands

Massa Marittima Trail Area is nestled in the heart of this hill, with over 180 kilometres of trails, maintained with dedication throughout the year, and has become an international destination for professional teams, amateur clubs, families, individuals, road, MTB, down country, gravel, enduro and all-mountain bikers – a true paradise for all cycling lovers.

Bike Garage & More, a consultancy firm dedicated to developing projects for public entities and private organisations investing in cycle tourism and slow tourism, will organise the event and the 2025 WES Awards Ceremony in the medieval small town of Massa Marittima, one of the most beautiful in Italy, and will keep working to promote cycling as a lifestyle and a sustainable tourism model.

Along with Bike Garage & More, the race organisation will be handled by Massa Vecchia Bike Hotel’s Staff. Massa Vecchia is the realisation of Ernesto Hutmacher’s vision, as the entrepreneur and bike lover acquired an old ruin in Massa Marittima back in 1985 and transformed it into Italy’s pioneering family-run bike hotel. To this day, Ernesto leads the business, joined by his daughters and an exceptional team.

“The final round of the UCI E-MTB World Cup is an unmissable opportunity to promote the beautiful trails of Massa Marittima and its surrounding area – declared Ernesto Hutmacher. We are e-bike enthusiasts since its inception and are very excited to promote this discipline where technique, tactics, and power reach their highest expression. After organising several editions of the Maremma Cup UCI XCO HC, the time has come to focus on the e-bike discipline, which is gaining increasing interest among both professional riders and enthusiasts.”

Tenuta il Cicalino and WES racecourse

WES racecourse is located at the venue “Tenuta il Cicalino”, an amazing terrain with a breathless view of the town and the valley, which is part of an important Food and Hospitality business Group partnering with WES and Massa Vecchia for this debut event.

The World Cup racetrack is 2.6 km clockwise, with 170 m ascent level per lap, technical and demanding. This was designed on brand-new concept trails, created for this big event to become permanent facilities.

“Tenuta il Cicalino” offers a serene retreat immersed in nature, surrounded by olive groves, and features a view of the historic town of Massa Marittima, and “Cicalino Bike World” is the bike-dedicated branch, providing a variety of routes and trails suitable for all skill levels. Professional guides and a year-round bike rental service ensure visitors can fully experience the beauty of this extraordinary region.

“We are extremely proud to host the final round of the 2025 World E-Bike Series on our trails in October – stated Elisabetta Pasinato, Tenuta il Cicalino Hospitality Manager. World-class athletes will compete on brand new permanent trails that we are currently building within the Tenuta il Cicalino with Luca Masserini’s Gravity School support, consolidating the international importance of our destination in the mountain bike scene for all bikers, from racers to amateurs”.

Francesco Di Biase, CEO and Founder of WES said: “We are very excited to bring the E-MTB World Cup to Massa Marittima Trail Area, a perfect place to close and define the 2025 season. It will undoubtedly be an unforgettable event that will leave a lasting impact. We aim to support the realisation of permanent facilities for local communities and we share this goal with Massa Vecchia and Il Cicalino. We can’t wait to race there!”

Amateur race

Amateur riders will have the chance to challenge themselves on the E-MTB World Cup track, enjoying a welcoming, family environment and experiencing the excitement of witnessing a World Cup race.

This much-awaited event will see the participation of several MTB legends whose names will be unveiled as the season progresses.

Registrations

Registrations will open soon at www.worldebikeseries.com for Wildcards and Amateurs.

Wildcards can request a UCI daily licence through their national federations.

Special accommodation and hospitality packages for Teams and Amateurs will be available and promoted across the organisers’ channels in the upcoming weeks.
