On January 9, 2025, Spark Racing Technology completed the production of the fleet of ten Pioneer 25 vehicles for the FIA Extreme H World Cup, the first off-road racing series powered by hydrogen.

These vehicles feature state-of-the-art hydrogen fuel cells, emitting only water vapor, highlighting the series’ commitment to sustainability.

Equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the Pioneer 25 delivers up to 400 kW (550 hp) of power, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and climb inclines of up to 130%.

Extreme H in Their Own Words

The Extreme H series is built on the foundation of Extreme E, the electric off-road championship that has pushed the limits in performance, equality, and environmental awareness. Extreme H is expected to begin at the end of 2025, demonstrating the feasibility of hydrogen as a clean energy solution and offering exciting competitions.

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Extreme H, emphasized: “The production of our fleet of ten race vehicles marks an important milestone as we approach the launch of the FIA Extreme H World Cup. These vehicles are not only innovative in terms of technology; they represent the future of sustainable motorsport, and we are ready to compete.”

Meanwhile, Nicolas Wertans, president of Spark Racing Technology, stated: “Spark Racing Technology is incredibly honored to deliver the Pioneer 25 race vehicles for the FIA Extreme H World Cup. This project has taken the limits of hydrogen technology in motorsport, combining advanced engineering with sustainable innovation.”

With vehicle production now complete, the countdown for the FIA Extreme H World Cup has officially begun, promising technology, sustainable innovation, and high-level competition all in one place.
