WES Management is glad to announce that Cheile Grădiștei, Romania for the 2025 WES Calendar.

Scheduled for June 14-15, the WES Cheile Grădiștei Round is a new addition to the WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup. It comes with a multi-year renewal option, signalling a long-term partnership between the organisers and the region.

The event is organized by A.C.S. Pro Cycling, a local promoter with a proven track record in cycling event management. Led by Tudor Oprea, former national cycling champion, previously organised the 2024 UEC MTB XCO-XCR-XCC European Championships.

Tudor Oprea, President of A.C.S. Pro Cycling, stated:

“I am always looking for new challenges, and to have more international-level races in Romania is the next step. Working with WES is a big opportunity for us, and I am sure Romania will be on the E-MTB map for the upcoming years”.

A Landmark Venue

Cheile Grădiștei is located in the Carpathian Mountains, between Moieciu de Jos and Fundata, about 30 km from Brașov, and offers the perfect setting for E-MTB racing.

The venue sits at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters and has hosted numerous high-profile cycling and other sports events.

Its facilities and natural trails make it an ideal location for both professional racers and amateur participants, and organisers are expecting huge participation from the nearby countries that have shown their interest in the series in the last few years.

Francesco Di Biase, CEO and Founder of WES, said:

“Romania’s inclusion in the WES calendar marks an important development for the series. For the first time in Eastern Europe, both sides will collaborate extensively to establish a long-term platform for e-bikes at this amazing new venue”.

On the other hand, an amateur race will accompany the main WES competition and promises to become a cornerstone in the E-MTB racing calendar.

The racecourse will be unveiled soon, along with more details about the commercial village and the full spectators’ programme.

Registration will open in the next few days.
