The Danish government has implemented a policy to ensure that no cabs emit carbon dioxide by 2025. For this reason, companies from the automotive industry are beginning to adopt strategies to comply with the regulations and contribute to their goals of preserving the environment.
In that sense, Toyota and Drivr announced a partnership to introduce 100 hydrogen cabs on the streets of Copenhagen, specifically the Mirai model. It comprises units from both Toyota’s current Mirai and its previous generation.
Among the benefits of these models are: greater range, more power, larger and roomier, and considerably cheaper than other ranges.

Drivr is one of the cab companies at the forefront of the green transition. From a consumer point of view, the platform gives a choice between hybrid, electric and hydrogen vehicles.
Projects in Europe
The inclusion of hydrogen vehicles in Denmark are not by chance, but part of a series of programs set up by the European community.
“Hydrogen Mobility Europe 2 and Zero Emission Fleet Vehicles For Europe are two ambitious plans that aim to spread hydrogen alternatives throughout the European Union and encourage the creation of refueling stations.
The CEO of Toyota in Denmark, Alar Metsson, highlighted the delivery of the first 100 hydrogen cabs to Drivr and said they are prepared to supply more vehicles in the future. “In this respect, we support their goal to be the greenest cab company in Denmark.”
For his part, CEO of the Danish Hydrogen organization, Tejs Laustsen Jensen, pointed out that many new cabs help create the necessary hydrogen take-off at refueling stations, which is critical for infrastructure development.
“There is no doubt that the cab sector is a key vector for the green transition. They are constantly on the move and travel many kilometers every day, especially around big cities. By moving from the dirtier diesel to clean hydrogen, you get the same flexible operation and mobility, but without the harmful emissions,” he added.
