The social inclusion of women at the workplace has been one of the main issues that Ola Electric wanted to address, therefore, more than 10,000 women will operate the electric scooter factory being built in India, one of the largest in the world, as the CEO of the company, Bhavish Aggarwal, revealed through an official statement.

The company will become the first and only vehicle plant to use 100% female labor. Ola Electric seeks to give an opportunity for experience, development and growth to women, who will be in charge of bringing to life the next OLA S1 electrified scooter, estimated at 1,140 euros.

Hundreds will be in charge of this plant, where the first batch has already been received to participate in the training process, marking a before and after on the automotive market worldwide.

“This is the first in a series of initiatives being undertaken at Ola to create a more inclusive workforce and to provide economic opportunities for women at all levels. We have invested significantly to train and upgrade them on core manufacturing skills and will be responsible for the entire production of every vehicle built at Ola Futurefactory,” Aggarwal said.

This will make it financially easier for women to provide welfare for their families. At the same time, the entire Indian community will benefit greatly from it, as Ola Electric affirms, according to research reports suggest that parity can increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the nation by 27%.

“But this requires an active and conscious effort from all of us, especially at manufacturing, where participation is still the lowest at only 12%. For India to be the manufacturing hub of the world, we must give priority to skill enhancement and employment generation for our female workforce,” he concluded.
