Alejandro Agag and Rodi Basso bet again for a new electrified category, although this time with something totally new when they officially presented some months ago the E1 Series, the first all electric speedboat racing category, the beginning of a new speed era.

Together with Sophi Horne and the whole team, they created RaceBird, the boat that will be used to give life to the category. After its presentation, tests were started to benefit the prototype’s development in terms of speed, friction and adherence on the water.

This was announced by E1 Series through its social networks after stating that hydrofoil technology tests were successfully initiated with the purpose of reducing friction between RaceBird and water. This technology will enable the boat to reach its maximum power (50 knots) while maximizing the energy used.

What is Hydrofoil Technology?

A totally successful novelty on E1 Series’ part which will allow the RaceBird to rise up to protrude out of the water in order to avoid the dragging or blocking force from the waters. In addition, being a few centimeters above its level will ease the “side by side” fight between two or more boats by reducing the slipstream generated by the electric motor force.

This technology will fit perfectly with the idea provided by Sophie Horne, RaceBird’s chief designer, who states that its shape is inspired by birds flying, so its movement over the water will be as fluid as a bird’s flight.

The category also plans to take all the competition’s excitement to different locations around the world offering the best landscapes and panoramas that will naturally decorate each race, while taking action to promote sustainability and care for marine life.
