A technology addict with deep interest in fighting climate change. This is how Thomas Voigt, co-founder and CEO of RCCO Esport AG and World eX, the electric sports car simulation racing series, defines himself.

A German native, Voigt has focused his motto on three key tags to spread his sustainability message: #RacingForTheClimate, #DrivingTheFuture and #VisionRCCO.

“We have created World eX in order to fight the climate crisis and it will only work if we can reach as many people as possible. Our partnerships on digital platforms will help to achieve this and we hope to be able to offer fans interesting and entertaining content, not only about racing aspect, but also about sustainability and innovation,” explained the German when presenting the competition.

“We are racing for climate and we want everybody reaching the next level when it comes to improving our world”, he added.

The mastermind behind innovation

Voigt has worked with successful driver, Mike Rockenfeller, in shaping World eX, a new microcosm combining entertainment and sustainability on a clear mission: to support fighting climate change using motorsport and eSports. “We all know it. We have to act. We have to stop global warming and get together to make it happen,” he emphasized.

The new world championship is meant as a competitive platform for renowned racing drivers and experienced Simracing specialists.

Ten teams will have spectacular racing cars that Voigt and Rockenfeller have developed alongside with experienced motorsport engineers and simulation specialists.

The race cars were called by both founders as “sustainable beasts” with 1,000 electric horsepower and are extremely demanding, even for professional racing drivers. Voigt explained that technical basis is available to all participants and manufacturers, who can adopt it according to their requirements and wishes.

Technology companies executives associated with World eX Championship consider Thomas Voigt a tireless worker with ethics and dedication, ensuring that all ideas he implements lead to unprecedented success.

The German already plans to expand the competition all over the world, providing a progressive and protective approach to the environment, heavily impacted by climate crisis.
