Through its social media, E1 Series unveiled Venice Racing Team as the first team to be part of the championship created to electrify transportation of the seas, rivers and lakes in order to raise awareness about the importance of the marine ecosystem to the balance of life on Earth.

“Created by a group of racing and industry experts especially to compete in E1, the team will provide a platform for people and businesses in Venice who want a more sustainable world,” the 100% electric powerboat category noted on Instagram.

Promoting the protection of Venice’s lagoon, residential ecosystem and artistic heritage is part of the main goal of the first racing organization to be announced by E1 Series. In this way, they will be in the front row once the competition is inaugurated in 2023.

The team has been created by entrepreneur Francesco Pannoli along with energy specialist Claudio Iannelli, racing expert and Offshore World Champion Luigi Radice, and motorsports expert Eugenio Razelli.

Being surrounded by water, Venice is perfectly suited to E1 Series’ plans regarding racing, sustainability and preservation of the planet’s most important element. Moreover, the city’s natural landscapes and its close connection with water will play a key role in promoting the category created by Alejandro Agag and Rodi Basso.

“I am very proud to announce that an Italian team will be the first entrant to compete in our burgeoning World Powerboat Championship. We are excited to welcome Venice Racing Team to the E1 Family,” commented Basso.

Currently, E1 Series is undergoing a testing period where it is testing the RaceBird, the official championship vehicle, which it is looking to perfect and push to the limit with the intention of offering a spectacle in line with the height of the project.

About E1 Series

The E1 Series is the world’s first and only electric powerboat racing division established to create an exciting and competitive racing platform to promote sustainable electric boats and reduce environmental pressures on oceans, rivers and lakes.

The competition will see up to 12 teams competing on the water in spectacular racing locations around the world. Drivers will tackle tight and technical courses, reaching speeds approaching 50 knots (93 km/h or 58 mph) at the wheel of RaceBird powerboats designed by SeaBird Technologies and Victory Marine.
