The second season of Extreme E is very close to start, so both Chip Ganassi Racing and ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team got down to work to confirm their 2022 starting drivers, forming a well known and talented lineup that will surely give a lot to talk about.

Chip Ganassi will once again have Kyle LeDuc and Sara Price at the wheel, while ACCIONA will have Carlos Sainz and Laia Sanz. The U.S. team proved to have what it takes to challenge at the top of the table, and will try to prove it even more firmly during the new campaign of the 100% electric off-road category.

Bad luck was accompanied by technical problems during Season 1 that prevented Chip Ganassi from finishing further ahead overall. Memories of Price totally devastated, on the side of the track and with the steering completely broken are sure to come to mind for the team’s fans, who were on the verge of celebrating their first series win.

“I’m very excited to be on board with Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2022 Extreme E Series. We’ve taken what we learned in 2021 and pulled it to pieces to find the strengths and weaknesses, and we’ve approached every problem with pinpoint accuracy,” said LeDuc.

“… Our speed showed but the results were not there. This is our year of redemption. We are more than ready, we have learned a lot and it’s time to show the world that we have an amazing team behind us, and what we are capable of,” Price said.

On the other hand, the Spanish team will continue to have the great experience of ‘El Matador’. In the middle part, ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team was consistently solid, of course, surely they would have preferred to finish a little higher (sixth overall), and for this, they will return to Extreme E with everything.

“We are about to start Season 2. It’s quite amazing how fast the time passes because it seemed like only yesterday we were close to embarking on this exciting adventure, which has taken us all over the world with a unique message,” asserted Carlos Sainz.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the season in Saudi Arabia. I think it will be a different year compared to 2021, because we are not starting from scratch. Now the team has experience aboard the OSYSSEY 21 and I have been able to do a lot of kilometers,” said Sanz.
