E1 Series will be one of the categories innovating on sustainable motorsports, as maritime life, electrification and speed come together to bring to life the 100% green boat competition with RaceBird as protagonist, the boat designed to cross the waters competing for glory.

A few months ago, the RaceBird concept was presented virtually. However, on September 20 it will be officially unveiled to the public at the Monaco Yacht Club, during the Monaco Yacht Show, as the E1 Series revealed through its social networks, raising expectations.

Let’s remember that this category is backed by two great minds, Alejandro Agag and Rodi Basso, who are betting on a totally sustainable sporting future where the marine sector is clearly involved. “We know the sense of urgency and we want to contribute to have better water conditions, and explore for the future of the marine industry,” said Basso.

Sophi Horne, on the other hand, is the designer and mastermind behind the look of the RaceBird, named for its bird-like appearance, but with the necessary conditions to develop considerably high speeds on the water, due to its hydrofoil technology and, of course, aesthetically aerodynamic shape.

RaceBird: Features

Using carbon fiber as the main feature, the RaceBird was assembled entirely in Italy. It measures 7 meters long by 3 meters wide and has the capacity to develop up to 50 knots of force, weighing 800 kilograms in total. “The idea was to design something that goes with nature and not against it,” said Horne.

There is no doubt about the mix of culture, sport and sustainable awareness that E1 Series will generate from the very first official race, therefore, Agag and Basso are totally convinced about starting a drastic change in marine life, and for that, the 100% electric boat category has arrived. “We believe it will be a big impact within motorsport. Just like Formula E or Extreme E, the E1 Series will be a pioneer and will boost development…”, said Agag.
