After a very intense day in Denmark, the Pure ETCR transferred all its excitement to the Hungaroring circuit to continue with the season Schedule. Phillip Eng and Mikel Azcona dominated Saturday’s session to be positioned very well for the Hungary competition.

Augusto Farfus finished as the best in Group A after starring in an entertaining and disputed battle against the championship leader, Mattias Ekström. Both drivers touched at turn five of the track, with two of the Brazilian’s tires out of  the asphalt receiving a penalty.

The race commissioners determined that Farfus’s movement was totally illegal, losing six points as a result, leaving 21 units for sunday, making Eng and his Romeo Ferraris-M1RA remain at the top of Group A.

On the other hand, in Group B there was also no lack of excitement, speed and adrenaline, as Mikel Azcona unleashed all the potential that his CUPRA X Zengo Motorsport could give him at the Hungaroring, strategically using his power-up at Turn 1 to stay ahead in front of Rodrigo Baptista.

On this side of the table there were also sanctions. Hyundai Motorsport N’s Jean-Karl Vernay received a three-second penalty after exceeding the limits of the Hungarian circuit. In this way, Azcona will be the only man present in Hungary capable of finishing the weekend with all the available points (77 units).

Finally, the championship to Mattias Ekström as the leader of the general classification (210 points), seeking to extend his gap over his closest pursuer, Jean-Karl Vernay (186 points). In addition, Jordi Gené (167 points) and Mikel Azcona (161 points) come little by little trying to strike a forceful blow on the table.
