In order to improve vehicle performance for a more exciting competition, the PURE ETCR announced a partnership with WSC Group and MAGELEC, powertrain specialists, which will be responsible for providing electric powertrain propulsion units.

As detailed by the All-Electric Touring Car Series in an official statement, as part of an additional multi-year agreement with Eurosport Events, MAGELEC Propulsion will benefit from increased visibility and promotion throughout the series, featuring its branding on all competition cars.

Commenting on this, PURE ETCR Director Xavier Gavory said, “We are delighted that competitors will be powered with systems supplied by MAGELEC.”

He assured that “no one has more experience in developing propulsion systems for the ETCR platform than MAGELEC, and both their team and expertise are already part of the racing DNA for all the cars competing this year”.

“It is of vital importance for a new series, and especially one pioneering new technology, to have solid and reliable engineering and manufacturing, and MAGELEC Propulsion’s reputation provides us and our competing teams and manufacturers with a lot of confidence as the world’s first in this area,” he explained.

The tournament CEO added that “the multi-brand, all-electric touring car series continues to grow and is gearing up for its evolution into the FIA eTouring Car World Cup in 2022”.

Meanwhile, Craig Daniel, MAGELEC Propulsion CEO and founder, said, “We are honored to be the ETCR family’s propulsion system technology partner and to be powering all PURE ETCR cars.”

He detailed that the company “designs and manufactures high-torque, axial-flow, lightweight electric motors and power electronics with Omni Gear drive systems.”

“We have created a robust 500 kW torque vectoring drive unit that maximizes tractive force and acceleration capabilities for the ETCR platform. The compelling PURE ETCR race format is a fantastic demonstration of electric vehicle technology, and shows the convincing performance they offer,” he added.
