The eSkootr Championship’s vision of the ideal scooter for the championship has been brought to reality thanks to YCOM, who understood the challenges that a new and innovative category like this demands. The development, however, has been a resounding success at delivering a final product on a professional sport level.

The vehicle has been baptized as S1-X, and after evaluating the performance, it has been approved by the competition to become the Official Scooter. YCOM will be in charge of manufacturing it in a standardized way, because the category wants to save costs on its first seasons.

Before YCOM entered the scene, the eSkootr Championship had advanced the S1-X development, although the final result was far from what was expected. The new scooter supplier partner, however, had three and a half months to fine-tune details of the prototype, and once it was ready, it had another month and a half to produce 10 additional versions.

The eSkootr Championship kept a close eye on the process with YCOM through weekly updates and meetings. The result was worth it and now the category has its official vehicle assembled in time to begin testing and racing, claiming that the S1-X is one of the most extreme high-performance electric scooters in existence.

The scooter flaunts its power through two state-of-the-art electric motors delivering 6 kW paired with a 1.5 kW battery supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering. The chassis is carbon fiber-assembled, a flexible and resistant material ideal for the racing world, while being aerodynamically and environmentally friendly coated.

The front and rear suspension elements are adjustable and made in aluminum to provide an incredible light weight of 35 kilograms, which is ideal to allow the SX-1 to develop considerable speeds on the track. The vehicle actually features a torque delivery system balancing the output between the front and rear wheels, providing more than 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph).

“YCOM’s ability to translate the knowledge, experience and know-how of the team from other fast-paced motorsports development projects into an all-new electric micromobility racing vehicle, highlights how quickly they are able to adapt while maintaining an exceptional standard of engineering and production quality,” said Hrag Sarkissian, co-founder and CEO of eSkootr Championship.
