News regarding Extreme E does not stop after a successful first season, as Veloce Racing confirmed that Christine Giampaoli Zonca (GZ) will be the driver for the second season of the 100% electric off-road series.

During the initial season, Christine GZ competed with Xite Energy Racing team, where she had several highlights that certainly influenced Veloce’s decision to acquire her services, such as her second place at the X Prix of Senegal. In addition, her fast starts also showed what she is made of.

She started impeccably in Greenland, Sardinia and Doset. Therefore, she will have a golden opportunity within the British organization as a replacement for Jamie Chadwick, W Series Champion, who is automatically ruled out of the team after the arrival of GZ, since one of the main policies of Extreme E is gender diversity that includes a driver of each sex.

The Italian-Canarian’s resume speaks for itself: Rally Andalucía Road to Dakar and Baja 1000 are part of the experience accumulated to achieve a seat at Veloce, and continue writing history at the sustainable off-road division aboard the ODYSSEY.

“I’m so excited to join Veloce Racing this year! They did an amazing job last season after a really difficult start in Saudi Arabia, the car looked really competitive in 2021,” said GZ, assuring that she learned quite a lot in the inaugural season, as well as being convinced that she can achieve great results in 2022.

On the other hand, the British team also welcomed their new driver. Team Principal, Rupert Svendsen-Cook, expressed his feelings on the matter: “For us, Christine’s talent is secure and we are committed to maximizing her potential by further development, making sure we capitalize on it…. We are delighted to welcome her into our close-knit Veloce family, excited for what the future holds together.”
