Tesla is positioned in the automotive market as one of the pioneers in electrification. Therefore, Elon Musk has announced the expansion of the company’s superchargers to supply energy to other electric car brands’ batteries, as announced through his official Twitter account.

This represents a breakthrough for sustainable mobility on a large scale, because one of the main problems when choosing electric vehicles is to find charging points throughout cities, in order to drive off without worrying about running out of battery halfway, so the Tesla CEO has provided a great solution through his company.

Similarly, Tesla’s Superchargers have already been making a difference in the market for some time now, so it will surely be an option for many sustainable car owners.

Rumors regarding this news have been growing for a month now, since Tesla has been negotiating with the German government to supply the country with Superchargers, and it was only a matter of time before the electric car brand’s CEO confirmed the story on social media.

Musk took time to reply to a Twitter user about Tesla’s chargers. “We created our own connector, as there was no standard at the time and Tesla was the only long-range electric car manufacturer. It’s a quite thin plug for low and high power charging. That said, we will open our Supercharger network to other electric vehicles later this year,” he said.

We created our own connector, as there was no standard back then & Tesla was only maker of long range electric cars.

It’s one fairly slim connector for both low & high power charging.

That said, we’re making our Supercharger network open to other EVs later this year.

In addition, he also stated that Tesla Superchargers will arrive to all countries providing a practical solution when restoring power to electric vehicles, a major advance for the Zero Emissions Plan that has been implemented by the United Kingdom and other European nations in order to transform mobility into a favorable action for the planet.
