Special ONE is a racing team born with the mission to innovate in the market of ecological and sporty vehicles, which has announced its entry into the World Rallycross Championship with two Delta Evo-e RXs, designed and manufactured by GCK Performance.

The team’s presentation will take place at the Charade Super Show on May 21, ahead of the first of nine rounds of the 2023 World RX to be held in Montalegre, Portugal, on June 3-4.

The legend Sébastien Loeb and Guerlain Chicherit will be in charge of taking the wheel. With them, the team has high aspirations in the competition, backed by the talent of its drivers, coupled with the two engines of 250kW of power (each), that is, 680 horsepower in total.

“I’m from a generation that grew up watching Lancia Delta victories in rally racing. So naturally I have a soft spot for this car. But when Guerlain first talked to me about tackling a rallycross, I thought he was crazy! Then I tested the car in December 2022 and was immediately won over by its dynamic qualities. I have great confidence in this project and I can’t wait to defend it on tracks all over the world,” Loeb assured.

New Category, New Car

With the manufacture and design of the car by GCK Performance, Special ONE Racing seeks to stand out in the market of ecological and sporty vehicles with innovation and high performance.

With drivers of the stature of Sébastien Loeb and Guerlain Chicherit, it seeks to demonstrate its ability to compete at the highest level to take the Delta Evo-e RX to victory.

In fact, Special ONE’s new cars can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds, up to seven tenths faster than a Formula 1 single-seater of the same size.

However, despite the power of the car and the experience of the drivers, both will have to adapt to the electric landscape, although Loeb has experience in similar categories, as we recall that he competed in Extreme E for two seasons, being champion and runner-up with Cristina Gutierrez in Lewis Hamilton’s team, X44.
