Nico Perrin, founder of PERRINN Ltd, is pursuing one of motorsport’s boldest projects: creating the world’s fastest electric race car. The PERRINN 424, having already surpassed in simulation the Porsche 919 Evo with a lap record of the Nurburgring Nordschleife under 5mn, aims to set a new world record in real life. The team will then look into participating in the renown 24h Le Mans race.
The car is designed around an open-source philosophy, with its data, designs, and progress shared online for engineers and fans worldwide. Perrin believes that openness will accelerate innovation, build a global team, and inspire a new generation of motorsport enthusiasts.
Unlike traditional programs backed by major manufacturers, PERRINN operates as a community-driven project, funded by digital tokens and private investment. The goal is to align contributors, fans, and investors behind a shared mission rather than keeping development locked away.
Technically, the 424 will weigh 975 kg including the driver and deliver 750 kW of power, aiming for extreme performance over a five-minute Nürburgring lap without heavy cooling systems. Perrin emphasizes that efficient battery technology and lightweight design are critical to unlocking the car’s potential.

While record attempts are the immediate objective, the longer vision is to race at Le Mans with a hydrogen-powered version, matching endurance racing’s future direction. For Perrin, Nürburgring and Le Mans represent the ultimate tests of speed and endurance.
The project also challenges motorsport’s culture. Perrin wants to prove that small, agile teams can achieve breakthroughs once reserved for factory programs. By sharing the journey openly, he hopes to redefine how innovation happens in racing.
“This is about more than just one car,” he explains. “It’s about building a team and a community that can inspire the future of motorsport.”
