Brazilian driver Sergio Sette Camara has already assumed his new role as a racer in the NIO333 team and is preparing for the expected third generation (Gen3) era inFormula E.

Camara traveled to Italy and already accumulated his first laps in the team’s ER9 Gen3 car, as the squad intensifies its preparations for season 9. The Brazilian specifically headed to Varano and has been training hard for the jump to the new stage of the electric single-seater series, with intense work in the simulator.

Sette Camara is more than happy to be back on the grid, ahead of the arrival of the next major evolution of the championship. “Since about season 3, I have been following Formula E very closely. I’ve seen the championship grow very quickly as a sporting event during this time and I’ve also seen the market adoption of electric vehicles grow and disrupt the traditional automotive industry.”

Good Reception

Speaking to theofficial Formula E websiteCamara assured that he has had a great reception from the staff that make up NIO 333. “Everyone in the team has welcomed me very well and there seems to be a very good working atmosphere here. I’m really looking forward to the season.”

“I had been looking forward to driving the Gen3 car for some time, and was very happy to finally do so at Varano and Mallory Park last week. The testing was very productive, we covered a lot of ground and I gradually gained confidence in the car,” he explained.

Impressions of the Single-seater

About the new vehicle that will jump to the tracks, the Amazonian detailed that it seems very physical and with all the drivers with whom he has exchanged opinions about the car have agreed that the steering wheel is very heavy.

“More than ever I will give special attention to my physical condition this year. Indoor training is great for developing strength, outdoor training is where I train cardio, but I also use that time to clear my mind,” Camara stated.

Formula E takes its next big leap with its third-generation car for season 9, which will become the lightest, fastest and most sustainable electric single-seater racing car to date, according to descriptions from the category itself and its promoters.

“I believe these trends will continue. Of course there will be bumps in the road, but ultimately I believe the FIA Formula E World Championship will reward those who compete in it very well, especially those who joined early,” he pointed out.
