The 2024 Extreme E season has begun with two teams immediately leaving their imprint on the competition: Rosberg X Racing and ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team. Both teams have emerged as the first winners in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, maintaining the title battle they initiated in 2023.

Nico Rosberg, the former Formula 1 driver, leads Rosberg X Racing, demonstrating remarkable supremacy in Extreme E by securing victory in two out of three seasons. However, they narrowly fell short of the championship to X44 in 2022.

Johan Kristoffersson and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky form an unstoppable duo in the competition, combining their aggressive, precise, technical, and adrenaline-fueled driving styles.

ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team: The Legend Continues

Guided by the leadership of Carlos Sainz, a revered figure in the motorsport world, ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team came tantalizingly close to securing the title last season in an epic showdown against Rosberg X Racing. Now, in 2024, that intense rivalry persists into the first race following a shared victory in Jeddah.

Laia Sanz and Fraser McConnell have distinguished themselves by adeptly adjusting to the evolving track conditions, making their debut as a racing pair in the series. Sanz, boasting a background in motorcycle racing, brings a blend of technique and courage to the team, while McConnell, previously associated with X44, brings his expertise from the off-road realm.

The start of the title fight

The rivalry between Rosberg X Racing and ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team is set to escalate further. While it might appear premature, both teams left everything on the track last season, and this extension of their rivalry into 2024 underscores their determination to uphold their track dominance and seize the championship.
