Robotic Technology: Paack unveiled zero-emission Electric Distribution Complex
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Linkedin

Paack, a logistics company specialized in eCommerce deliveries, inaugurated a pioneering sustainable energy distribution center in Europe, equipped with the most advanced technology. The new warehouse is located on the outskirts of Madrid, fully automated and has 50 electric recharging points.

The implementation of robotics at the facility will significantly increase the productivity and efficiency of the service currently offered by the company, allowing considerable time savings and a significant decrease of potential mistakes.

With the machines performing a dual function: order sorting and delivery routes, the process automation will facilitate the tasks of the workers and boost operating volume, as the new center can process up to 12,000 packages per hour and make more than 200 deliveries.

Environmental Protection

Paack points out that in order to achieve the required productivity at its new facility, it has implemented an action plan aimed at eliminating the carbon footprint generated by its entire activity, including investment on non-polluting vehicles, route optimization, and reducing delivery failures.

The electric vehicle and robot self-consumption will also be supported by solar panels. “With this commitment to sustainability, Paack aspires to become the leading zero-emission delivery company of reference in Europe,” according to sources at the company, which is currently expanding its fleet of electric vehicles.

Major expansion

Paack’s main activity is in Spain, practically throughout the country, where it already has eleven distribution and cross-docking platforms in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Seville, Malaga, Murcia, Asturias, La Coruña, and Bilbao.

The company, created six years ago, now has 400 employees and also operates in France, Portugal and the United Kingdom, where it opened distribution points this year with 100% zero-emission deliveries in Manchester and Liverpool, and will soon start operations in Birmingham.
