Formula 1 is one of the most popular and exciting sports in the world, and while there have been some efforts to increase diversity in the sport, there is still a large gender gap in competition.

Therefore, the creation of F1 Academy, a division 100% dedicated to female talent, is important for the world’s top motorsport category as a driver and enhancer of women in single-seater racing.

In this way, the series represents a major step towards gender equality in the sport. Currently, Formula 1 is one of the few sporting categories in which women have very limited representation, and this has been the case for a long time.

Women’s Window on Competition

Being marginalized for many years from Formula 1 proved to be a major factor in women’s lack of interest in the sport, as they dreamed of becoming the next Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull driver.

Therefore, F1 Academy will serve as an inspiration for more women to take an interest in the Grand Circus and consider a career in the automotive industry. By seeing more competing at the same level, more could be encouraged to pursue their dreams to prove that there are no limits.

Not to mention how key it will be in the way are perceived in society, as unfortunately, women are often stereotyped as less capable than men in certain areas when this is not the case, including those related to sports.

Given this, this new category will be a catalyst to change this perception and demonstrate that can be as successful as men in any field, being aware that they already are in other categories.

Finally, the positive impact on the automotive industry in general is also at stake, in a positive way, as it will lead to more women taking an interest in automotive engineering and technology, driving innovation in the sector and leading to significant advancements in the industry.
