Sebastian Vettel’s name is included on Formula 1’s historical books, as the German has recorded a successful career in the category, which will come to an end when the 2022 season ends, as the Aston Martin driver announced his retirement from the Grand Circus to close a chapter of 15 seasons.

Shortly after the news broke, an image was published almost instantly that caught the attention of many: Vettel in uniform and ready to race in the 100% electric off-road category. It was a theory, but ‘Seb’s’ characteristics fit perfectly with the series’ mission.

Vettel is one of the most active drivers in promoting sustainability, human rights and environmental conservation. In various Grands Prix he has worn T-shirts with direct and conscientious messages, such as “save the bees”, or “Miami 2060, first Grand Prix underwater. Act now or nothing later”, referring to the consequences of climate change on Florida if current lifestyles continue.

He has also, on more than one occasion, stayed at the circuit to pick up litter from the grandstands. Anyway, Seb is passionate about sustainability, and a seat in the ODYSSEY 21 wouldn’t go amiss for him. Although, it is worth noting that in the announcement of his retirement, he emphasized wanting to spend time with his family.

He debuted with BMW in F1 and from there began his path to success, passing through Toro Rosso (today Alpha Tauri) and then at Red Bull, where he conquered absolute glory after winning 4 championships in a row between 2010 and 2013, representing 80% of all driver titles held by that team.

He then moved to Ferrari where he tried to consolidate his legacy there, but could not. The Italian team struggled to find a competitive car. In 2018, they had a single-seater that seemed to be able to beat Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes, but in the second half of the campaign it lost strength and yielded to the might of the Silver Arrows.

Finally, he closed his Formula 1 cycle at Aston Martin. In addition, he has also stood out for being the mentor of Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
