Ola Electric, a prestigious technology company headquartered in India, with serious expansion intentions to Europe and other latitudes, announced that it will venture into the fascinating world of electric cars, after the launch of their innovative scooters.

The news was revealed by the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, who published an image of the sketch prototype on Twitter, to be turned into a reality by the engineering team.

Ola’s new proposal will be assembled at the “Future Factory”, a $330 million facility located southeast of Bangalore, India. It is planned to establish a Global Design Center for the organization’s electric car division at this complex.

In addition, the building will have all the necessary facilities for the development of new vehicles, including color, material and finishing laboratories.

Design Highlights

According to the photo released by Aggarwal, the model boasts a fully aerodynamic front end with a highly curved windshield that blends in with the rest of the elements. It also features a full-width LED bar at the front.

Also, the photo shows a five-door silhouette and aerodynamic wheels with yellow brake calipers on the front tires. Although no rear-view mirrors are visible, both are expected to be included on final production, especially the door handles, which are essential for safety.

As far as the upper part of the car is concerned, it features large windows, which gives an idea of the great visibility and luminosity that its passenger compartment should offer.

The Ola Electric plans not only include this vehicle, but also hopes to expand its lineup after 2023.  For this purpose, the company is planning a large financial investment of $100 million over five years for a new R&D center for electric scooters and cars, located in the United Kingdom.

The aim is to create a global epicenter of automotive and technology talent on British soil. The “Futurefoundry” complex will complement and collaborate with Ola’s core team in Bangalore to deliver exciting new two- and four-wheeled electric vehicles.
