The ERT Formula E team arrives after a seven-season partnership with Chinese automaker NIO comes to an end, as the long-established team heads into its tenth season in the series.

The outfit is coming off one of its best campaigns in recent years. In the hands of Dan Ticktum and Sergio Sette Camara, who will continue with the team into season 10, the combined effort saw one of the team’s best seasons in recent years.

The pair demonstrated impressive one-lap pace with 10 dueling appearances, turning those top 10 starting positions into nine points finishes and finishing the season in ninth place in the overall team standings.

New Stage

Based at Silverstone race circuit, as part of ERT’s “rebirth,” the team will look to commercialize its technology and intellectual property and apply this on-track learning to road products.

“We are proud to unveil our new identity as the ERT Formula E team; it is an exciting step in our journey,” said Alex Hui, ERT Formula E Team Principal, about the new journey ahead.

“As the only Formula E team manufacturer currently not tied to an OEM, our software and powertrain development has been done independently, which puts us in a unique position,” he noted.

Hui explained that by utilizing what they have learned on the track, they have already identified that they have a lot to offer in terms of improving the performance of electric vehicles.

“This expertise not only covers propulsion systems, but also with vehicle support and engineering solutions, something that is already proving to be of interest within the automotive and motorsport industry,” the executive detailed.

ERT has been in the series since the early days of Formula E, with Nelson Piquet Jr. winning the inaugural drivers’ title with the team in the 2014/15 season.

There have been a few name changes since then and NIO joined the team in season 3 to begin a seven-year partnership that recently saw the team under the NIO 333 Racing moniker.
