Nico Rosberg: From Formula 1 Champion to Climate Innovator
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Linkedin

Nico Rosberg is remembered by many for his speed on the Formula 1 track, especially for clinching the 2016 World Championship. But in recent years, he has become just as well known for something far from the roar of engines: his commitment to climate action and sustainability.

After retiring from racing at the height of his career, Rosberg shifted gears and began investing time, resources, and energy into projects that promote a cleaner future. He co-founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform that brings together technology leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators who are developing sustainable solutions. The festival showcases everything from electric aviation to zero-waste materials, turning ideas into reality.

Rosberg has also become an active investor in start-ups focused on renewable energy, e-mobility, and carbon reduction. He is not just a public figure lending his name; he often works directly with the companies to help scale their technologies. His vision is to prove that business success and climate responsibility can go hand in hand.

In addition, Rosberg supports Formula E and Extreme E, racing series designed around electric vehicles and sustainability awareness. Through these projects, he continues to link his passion for motorsport with the urgent need to rethink mobility in a world affected by climate change.

Nico Rosberg’s transition from champion driver to climate innovator reflects a broader shift happening in sports and beyond. By using his platform and influence, he inspires both fans and industries to embrace new technologies and take bold steps toward a sustainable future. His journey shows that speed and progress are not only measured in laps, but also in the race against climate change.
