Anticipation is in the air as the 2024 MotoE season rapidly approaches. From February 21-23, teams and riders have been taking part in pre-season free tests, fine-tuning their machines and strategies for another action-packed and electric campaign.

During the first day of free practice, it was Nicolas Spinelli who stood out by topping the timesheets with a time of 1:47.632. This solid performance put him ahead of Alessandro Zaccone and Kevin Zannoni, setting an early precedent in the fight for pace.

Day two brought a change in the lead, however, with Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE team’s Hector Garzó taking center stage by topping the timesheets with an even faster 1:46.916.

A New MotoE Season

This season will see the defense of the title by reigning champion Mattia Casadei, who now competes with the LCR E-Team. Casadei will be looking to maintain his dominance in the category as he faces competition increasingly determined to take the crown from him.

In addition to Casadei, other familiar faces from last season are set to return and compete for the title in 2024. Two-time Cup champion Jordi Torres of the Openbank Aspar Team, first-time Cup winner Matteo Ferrari of Felo Gresini MotoE, 2023 race winner Hector Garzó of Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™, and Eric Granado of the LCR E-Team all emerge as leading contenders for the title.

With these elite riders on the grid, the 2024 MotoE season promises to be an epic battle filled with drama at every turn. Pre-season free practice has provided a preview of what’s to come, and ahead of it, fans can expect a campaign packed full of speed, overtaking and side-by-side battles.
