30 riders gave everything in the eSkootr Championship (eSC) official debut, the 100% electric scooter category began in London, United Kingdom, under a spectacular atmosphere that marked the beginning of a new sustainable competition that has everything to be one of the pioneers as far as sustainable motor sports are concerned.

Under a unique and challenging format, 10 teams jumped into Printworks London to go through a demanding circuit that complicated more than one rider, where a couple of them suffered falls while trying to take the S1-X, the competition’s official scooter, to the maximum performance. Besides, a great overtaking was part of the 2022 season opening race.

However, Matis Neyroud (PLYR:1) secured his name in the series’ history books after becoming eSkootr Championship first race winner. In second place came the British Dan Brooks (Nico Roche Racing), while the podium was completed by the Indian Anish Shetty (Carlin).

The format

10 teams, 30 drivers, one championship. Six qualifying rounds opened the first race of the season with five drivers in each. The last of each heat were eliminated, leaving the track for the remaining 24 towards the quarterfinals. There, a new group of six riders race against each other, where the top 3 advanced to the semifinals.

12 drivers topped the semi-finals, separates over two rounds, from six competitors battling it out for the top three, again, with the goal of securing a ticket into the six-driver race final. Already in the decisive instance, Neyroud had been the most agile to become the eSC first winner.
