Lukas Tulovic is one of the most promising young talents in German motorcycling. At just 21 years of age, he already serves as the animating rider of the Moto E World Championship and the European Moto2 Championship.

Born in Eberbach, Germany, he started in the two-wheeler world at the age of six. He celebrated numerous successes at an early age in different kinds of racing, becoming champion of his country and Europe.

In 2014, Tulovic joined the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship. From 2016 to 2018, he carved out an important performance to finish twice at the top of the grid.

In 2019 he had the opportunity to prove himself in the intermediate class, as he joined Kiefer Racing and showed some impressive qualities, especially in the first half of the season.

Since 2020, Tulovic has competed for the Tech3 team in the innovative electric motorcycle tournament after being named, despite his young age, as the most outstanding German racer of the moment.

Put pressure on the experienced

The little experience has not been a limit to the good that Lukas Tulovic has shown so far in the 2021 season of the Moto E. Although it is true that he still has a way to go, he already shows signs of being an uncomfortable rival that is going to fight the main contenders.

Proof of this was what happened in the last Dutch Grand Prix, where the German had the victory in his hands, but escaped him at the key moment. “The race was crazy. I’m a bit disappointed to have finished in 5th place. We had the potential to get more out of it and we should have deserved a better result.

“I had a great start to the race and led the first lap and a half. I felt really good on the bike from the start, but then another rider overtook me and I lost my speed from Turn 1 to Turn 3. So two or three riders were able to overtake me,” explained.

“They all tried to overtake. We were stuck and lost a lot of time in the process. I tried to recover, but it was difficult,” he added.

In this seven-lap race in the Netherlands, Eberbacher lost contact with the podium places where Eric Granado, Jordi Torres and Alessandro Zaccone landed. Tulovic’s difference was 2.6 seconds.

Tulovic will surely continue to give emotions to the MotoE World Championship, in a general table that so far places him in ninth position with 28 units, still far from Italian Alessandro Zaccone, who leads the event with 70 points.
