Ahead of the Island X Prix, an exciting event co-organized and coordinated by the Automobile Club d’Italia and Regione Sardegna, talented teenage driver Lia Block joined Carl Cox Motorsport, ready to make her Extreme E debut.

From Florida, USA, she joins the team replacing Christine GZ for the rest of the season with a solid kart racing experience and a remarkable potential, she has shown impressive skills in off-road competitions.
His participation in Nitrocross NEXT as well as the American Rally Association Championship, earning class wins along with an outstanding sixth overall in 2023.

Family Talent

Block’s addition marks a significant moment for both his family and Extreme E. His father, the legendary Ken Block, who sadly passed away earlier this year, played a crucial role in the early stages of the championship after being the first to compete with the ODYSSEY 21 in an event during the Dakar Rally.

Thus, Lia’s arrival figures as an emotional closing of a cycle that honors her father’s legacy and passion in the racing world. “I am delighted to be making my Extreme E debut at the next round in Sardinia for the Island X Prix,” assured the young driver.

“It’s a great opportunity to be able to race for Carl Cox Motorsport, so I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and hit the track. I’m really looking forward to doing my best for the team and getting good results,” she continued.

After achieving an outstanding podium in Scotland, Carl Cox Motorsport is currently in eighth position in Extreme E season 3, accumulating 23 points, leaving great expectations on its new duo (Block and Timo Scheider), while attention will focus on the debut of Lia, this July 8 and 9 in Sardinia.
