Through an official press release, Extreme E announced the addition of Kempower to the racing series as the new official charging partner of the championship. Thus, the company established in 2017 is listed as a firm committed to electric vehicles.

It specializes in the design and manufacture of software and chargers for electric vehicles, seeking to make DC fast charging reliable and accessible to drivers around the world. Their mission is to deliver DC fast charging solutions that are durable and able to withstand extreme conditions.

As such, they see Extreme E as the ideal environment to test and refine these innovations, leveraging the series as a testbed for their continued development. In this way, fast DC charging is beneficial in motorsports, as teams need agile response times to make the most of their opportunities on the track.

Kempower has designed a modular and scalable charging system that is complemented by world-class software, ensuring an optimal end-to-end experience for users, while committing to keep up with the latest technologies, constantly experimenting and developing DC fast chargers based on data and user feedback.

Recently, at the Desert X Prix in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Kempower showcased its electric vehicle chargers. Like Extreme E, the company also embraces sustainability with its charging solutions.

It is also dedicated to achieving a 100% recyclability rate by 2025, to eliminate landfill waste, as well as reduce the use of plastic packaging by 50%.

“Innovation is at the core of what we do here at Extreme E, so partnering with Kempower, who are game changers when it comes to DC fast charging, is exciting,” said Ali Russell, Extreme E CEO.

“Their technology will help us get the cars on track even sooner and their reliability credentials in extreme environments suit us perfectly. It’s also great that we align on many fundamental sustainability goals with targets as ambitious as ours,” he concluded.
