High-speed Beasts: The Cars Promised by Formula E for Gen3

Formula E is a tournament that is constantly evolving year after year. New destinations on the calendar, greater global media coverage, format modifications and more power in vehicles are part of the progress of the electric series.

In this regard, the Category Director, Alberto Longo, announced that the long-awaited era of third generation cars (Gen3), scheduled for 2023, will bring single-seaters with impressive speed, as the batteries they will use will be lighter in weight.

The executive detailed that the battery will have lower density, volume, weight and greater autonomy. “It will be a smaller car that I call the beast,” Longo said. He recalled that the 8th Season, starting in January, will be the last one running with the second-generation vehicles.

It is worth noting that in the first generation two cars were needed to finish the race; for the second generation, the organizers emphasized that only one car could finish the race, and the Gen3 will include ultra-fast charging to take the next step in electric mobility.

The Return to Mexico City

Since Formula E Season Two, Mexico has hosted the competition six times at the Mexican capital’s Autodromo, and this 2021, at the Miguel E. Abed track in Puebla, making the country one of the key destinations throughout the short history of the electric series.

During Season Seven, the race moved to a different venue because the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez was used as a hospital to treat patients with COVID-19.

“Visiting Mexico is one of the most outstanding stops in Formula E. We are delighted to return to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. We are delighted to return to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and welcome thousands of fans to enjoy an incredible day of racing, in a family-friendly and exciting environment,” said Longo at the press conference to present the E-Prix.

The organizers of the event to be held in Mexico confirmed that tickets for the February 12 race are already available at Ticketmaster, with special promotions for children under the age of 18 and free admission for infants up to 3 years old.

The return of Formula E to Mexico City will be spectacular, and the promoters of the event informed that it will feature a large food fair, entertainment venues, car exhibits from the automakers participating in the category and a post podium concert, so attendees can enjoy more than 12 hours of entertainment.
