Road safety is always on countries table’s conversation, since reinforcing roads to guarantee the protection of citizens must be a priority. Precisely, in France autonomous radars have been released, highly technological equipment designed to hunt violators behind the wheel.

They’re assembled in a kind of gray box, located at strategic points on the roads, but best of all, they have the ability to move freely along the length and width of the road to prevent drivers from detecting in where they are positioned to avoid the respective fines after breaking the road law.

Autonomous radars can move through the batteries incorporated in their system, making their presence not limited only to a specific point, in fact, they can also be placed on the curves that are generally the points of greatest vulnerability in the French roads.

However, with the presence of these devices, violations have decreased considerably, resulting in a highly feasible investment to keep drivers within the limits of the law while using technology.

How do autonomous radars work?

Autonomous radars use LIDAR laser technology, which allows these devices to be able to detect where the road is located, be it its lines or curves. Now, in a certain way, drivers are previously instructed about the presence of radars, since there are signs on the road that warn of their existence.

Later, the French government hopes to eliminate the signs about the presence of autonomous radars, since it considers that drivers should be aware of their existence, in addition to knowing the road safety regulations to the letter about what can be done or not. On the other hand, it is also planned to extend the radars to other European countries.
