Formula E (FE) is one of the pioneering categories in motorsports and sustainability, so they are bestplaced to demonstrate at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), the positiveimpact they have achieved regarding the Paris Agreement’s reduction targets.

Sustainable mobility has advanced significantly over the years, and it is partly due to all theinformation that companies have been able to extract from Formula E concerning technology, efficiency and increased battery capacities. Jaguar Land Rover, DS, Mahindra, Porsche, Mercedes,Nissan and NIO are proof of this.

During COP26, the electric division will participate at several events aimed to demonstrate to theworld the importance of motorsports for the adoption of sustainable practices, as well as to attractnew fans to this type of racing.

After seven successful seasons, Formula E has succeeded in becoming the first motorsport series toearn ISO 20121 third-party certification (2016). In addition, the category establishes itself as the onlyone to be 100% emission-free, reaffirming their commitment to continue this way in the future.

They managed to become the first sport to be part ofthe Science Based Targets Initiative to achievethe commitment to avoid a 1.5°C increase in Earth’s temperature. Together with Unicef, they havesupported three million children on climate resilience. Partnering with the United NationsEnvironment Programthrough its #BeatAirPolution campaign is also another achievement.
