FIA Presents Changes for Formula E Season 11

The FIA World Motor Sport Council held its annual meeting, where 16 races were defined for the 2024/2025 Formula E season, which will begin on December 7 with the Sao Paulo E-Prix.

The FIA also approved the introduction of a new Constructors’ World Championship, replacing the Manufacturers’ Trophy implemented this year, where points will be awarded to the two best cars of each franchise.

Also, the three points for pole position and the extra point for fastest lap will no longer count for this championship.

It should be noted that Jaguar was the first manufacturers’ champion in the electric category and also won the teams’ championship in season ten, with Pascal Wehrlein, from Porsche, as the drivers’ champion.

Other news

On the other hand, Formula E defined the parameters for the use of all-wheel drive, the main novelty of the Gen3 Evo car, which will debut in the preseason in Valencia: the device may only be used by the drivers at the start (up to 110 km/h), with attack mode activated and in qualifying duels.

Another change, according to the “Grand Prix” portal, is that the use of all-wheel drive is strictly forbidden in the pit lane and in rolling starts, nor can it take place on the way to the grid before the races.

The category has also made official an increase in the duration of the free practice sessions, which will go from 30 to 40 minutes.

Formula E returns to activity between November 4 and 7, with the preseason at the Valencia circuit, with coverage by GRANDE PRÊMIO. The 2024/25 season will start with the São Paulo E-Prix, scheduled for December 7.
