The Nissan Formula E Team announced its affiliation with apparel and sunglasses company Coral Eyewear, in a multi-year agreement.

The manufacturer details in a press release that, thanks to this partnership, Coral Eyewear will supply its distinctive products, made from recycled plastic and plant-based materials, to all Nissan Formula E team members during the 2023/24 campaign and beyond.

In addition, the brand will launch a special edition of Nissan Formula E team sunglasses, decorated with the team’s colors and logos, ahead of the inaugural E-Prix in Tokyo at the end of March.

Sustainable Commitment

Nissan highlights that Coral Eyewear is a natural partner for the Formula E team, as both brands share a commitment to sustainability without ever compromising on quality.

This collaboration will also allow the Japanese team and its drivers Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz to leverage the exposure generated by the ABB FIA Formula E FIA World Championship to promote sustainable fashion to audiences around the world.

Coral Eyewear

Founded in 2019 by George and Calvin Bailey, Coral Eyewear aims to offer stylish, luxury eyewear using recycled and plant-based production methods. The innovative idea attracted the attention of English TV presenter Jake Humphrey, who has since invested in the young company.

Attention is paid to environmental responsibility at every step of the brand’s production and distribution process. They are the first British brand to use ECONYLⓇ regenerated nylon in their eyewear, which is handmade in their factory in Italy.

The state-of-the-art polymer avoids 65,100 tons of CO2eq emissions for every 10,000 tons of raw material spent, a 90% reduction in environmental impact compared to oil-based nylon.

Recycled paper and PET are used in all of the label’s packaging and eyewear cloths, and its delivery partner, DPD, operates 1,600 electric vehicles across the UK, ensuring sustainability from factory to final delivery.
