Extreme E has been recognized internationally with a victory at the Sports Business Awards 2023. At the ceremony, it received the award for “Best Sustainability Strategy in Sport,” a recognition of its efforts to promote responsible practices within the sports industry.

Among the most notable initiatives of Extreme E are the use of electric off-road vehicles and the selection of race locations impacted by climate change, such as retreating glaciers, deserts, and eroded coastlines.

“This award is a testament to our team’s commitment to leading change in the sports industry. We are honored that our work is being recognized at this level,” said Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer of Extreme E.

Additionally, this accolade reinforces the series’ prestige on the international stage. Since its debut in 2021, Extreme E has continued to impress with its technology, competition, and environmental activism.

Extreme E at the Top

Through collaborations with scientists, the use of the St. Helena ship to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation, and the promotion of gender equality in sports through mixed-gender teams, Extreme E continues to pave the way for a more sustainable future.

The victory at the Sports Business Awards 2023 solidifies Extreme E as a benchmark for innovation and responsibility in the sports sector. Undoubtedly, this championship will remain a transformative force, paving the way for the new Extreme H series, the first electric off-road category powered by green hydrogen.
