With just a few weeks to go until the decisive day of Extreme E, the electric off-road category is set to present a big stage. Dorset, UK will host the farewell to the series’ first challenging campaign.

The course is already taking shape and will offer completely new challenges once again, compared to previous races to date. Gone are the sands of Saudi Arabia and Senegal, the glacial plains of Greenland and the harsh features of Sardinia.

In Britain, a mixed surface of clay, sand, gravel and mud is expected, making grip, or lack of it, a challenging test for the first time this season, as rain chances are very high in the region.

A Positive Environmental Trail Will Also Leave a Positive Environmental Trail

The Extreme E founder, Alejandro Agag, emphasized that beyond the impressive sporting rhythm of the tournament, the great importance is the environmental legacy of protection and conservation of the resources that have been left behind at various race destinations.

Outside the competition, the series is developing a legacy program to support the local community and its natural environment, with full details of the project to be revealed in the coming weeks.

“During our first year we have raised awareness of the climate crisis we all face. We have left positive impacts in each location and Dorset will be no different while working alongside local organizations to implement a program in the area,” he said.

“We are just a few weeks away from completing our inaugural season, and what a season it has been!” added Agag. He highlighted that a totally different track is expected with natural obstacles and challenges with plenty of rainfall, so he predicts a wet and muddy course this time around.

Although Nico Rosberg’s team has been the most dominant over the course of the year, nothing is decided yet for the title, which is also being disputed by Lewis Hamilton’s X44, Andretti United and Jenson Button’s JBXE.

The St. Helena, the official boat of the competition, is now sailing on its 2021 final leg to reach the UK ahead of the Jurassic X Prix. Once berthed, the entire series cargo will move to the Dorset event site, ready for a pre-Christmas racing extravaganza.
