Extreme E continues to break the mold and become a 100% original electric series. Therefore, they announced a test series after the X-Prix of Sardinia, where rookie drivers that may be selected by teams in the future will be able to participate.

They are inviting non-experienced drivers to send their resumes to the organization, so anyone with a background in motorsport has the opportunity to attend the day.

The category has nine teams on the grid, and each has two drivers, one male and one female. Every squad will be able to call up two prospects to the next test, taking place on October 25.

It is unclear how many of those called up will be selected to compete soon, but everyone will have their laps timed on the circuit. Naturally, those with the best times will be the favorites to be part of the tournament at some point.

Induction Days

Extreme E officials have planned workshops for the participants, who will learn from experienced professionals about racing in professional motorsport.

Jutta Kleinschmidt, 2001 Dakar Rally Winner and Chairwoman of the FIA Cross Country Rally Commission for Women in Motorsport, is one of the drivers who will be part of these guides. Jutta has stated that this is a great opportunity for everyone who dreams of competing on the series, along with her hope of finding new talent for the sport.

Unique Opportunity

For the CEO and Championship Founder, Alejandro Agag, the trials represent a turning point for athletes who want to break into motorsport.

He revealed that the idea came from several conversations with teams who identified a small gap when looking for talent, especially among women, and decided to organize these trials to give racers a chance to get behind the wheel of the stunning ODYSSEY 21 electric cars.

“I’m looking forward to seeing which drivers the different teams choose, and the quality of driving talent out there who just need a chance to showcase their skills,” said Agag.
