Extreme E andCount Us In announcedthe extension of their partnership for the second season of the 100% electric off-road competition, following their joint success in the series’ debut campaign. In this way, the challenge of including fans in the pro-environmental changes will continue.

The union between the two parties aims to make fans of the series part of the change by adopting sustainable habits and making small changes that represent big results. Eating plant-based foods, using bicycles, stopping the use of plastic bags and reducing energy consumption at home are part of the actions that look simple to do, but behind them hide a great reward.

In addition, fans have the power to attribute their steps to their favorite team in the category, so that at the end of the season, whoever accumulates the most will win the Extreme E Sustainability Award. Precisely, the 2021 winner was X44 after collecting 792 steps, followed by JBXE (749) and Rosberg X Racing (422). Now, in total, the program urged 1,231 fans to take 3,207 steps preventing the spread of 1,242,223 kilograms of CO2.

The Count Us In project addresses the main protagonists of change: the people, who have the power in their hands to alter the course of climate change.

“Our first season working with Count Us In proved successful. It was great to see how much engagement there was from the fans, which further underscores the power of our sport. We are fortunate to have a phenomenal platform, with it being important that we use it in the right way, meaning not only to entertain, but also to educate,” said Alejandro Agag, Extreme E’s founder and CEO.

The series’ objectives are based on surpassing what was achieved in the debut season, now with the addition of a new team that can significantly influence its fans due to its historical weight: McLaren XE, along with one of the most well-known and popular drivers on the grid, Tanner Foust, who at the time was the host ofTop Gear.

Finally, while both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together, the 2022 Extreme E championship prepares for a double date in Sardinia, then visit South America for the first time where the title will probably be defined in Chile and Uruguay.
