Undoubtedly, Extreme E can be cataloged as one of the fastest growing and accepted categories worldwide. Its sustainable mission integrated into the sporting facet of competition quickly engaged with fans’ hearts.

This was confirmed in 2021 after a heart-stopping inaugural campaign with a lot of sustainability. At the sporting level, big names such as Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton fought for the championship through their teams. Without being behind the wheel, they managed to captivate and divert attention to the incredible adrenaline-filled circuits.

Beyond the track, the commitment to leave an everlasting mark on every stage visited by the 100% electric off-road division made a significant impact. Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Greenland, Italy and the United Kingdom retain part of the good deeds done through the Legacy Program.

Gender diversity and equality was also one of the determining factors. A driver of each gender took control of the ODYSSEY 21 and had the opportunity to demonstrate his/her talent. Some more established than others at individual race level, but with the same opportunities to stand out and deliver everything for their teams.

All this and more will be seen again on 2022, with the Extreme E Season 2. There, Rosberg X Racing will try to defend the crown and continue promoting sustainable practices to improve, preserve and ensure life on planet Earth, as well as the rest of the teams, which, by the way, will have a new high-caliber member: McLaren XE.

Extreme E 2022 Calendar

Once again, Extreme E will open in Saudi Arabia. The X Prix will be from February 19 to 20 and is fully confirmed. At the previous campaign, RXR was the winner in that location. Then, Sardinia will receive again the ODYSSEY 21 electric action, starring a change that takes the race to the initial part and not the final, as happened in 2021.

For the third round the changes come, or not, because it is yet to be confirmed whether it will be run in Senegal, known territory, or Scotland, a nation that made an interesting proposal to host a competition of this magnitude. It would take place from July 9 to 10. As we enter the final stage, there are two totally new places with a lot to offer.

Antofagasta, Chile, will be the scene of Extreme E from 10 to 11 September, and then very close to the final battle to be held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, scheduled from 26 to 27 November.
