Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team se ha caracterizado por dominar la F\u00f3rmula 1 desde 2014 a 2021. Ocho campeonatos de constructores obtenidos de forma consecutiva, junto a 7 t\u00edtulos de pilotos han colocado a la organizaci\u00f3n en los libros hist\u00f3ricos de la m\u00e1xima categor\u00eda del automovilismo mundial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahora, con la introducci\u00f3n del nuevo reglamento t\u00e9cnico las cosas son un poco diferentes. Ya no pelean por victorias, pero han mejorado de forma considerable con respecto al inicio de la temporada 2022. Sin embargo, puede presumir de ser el primer equipo de cualquier deporte en general en invertir en combustibles de aviaci\u00f3n sostenibles (SAF, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este combustible sostenible funge como un producto derivado de desechos (forestales y agr\u00edcolas, aceite de cocina usado, carbono capturado del aire e hidr\u00f3geno verde), siendo una tecnolog\u00eda innovadora reconocida por la Organizaci\u00f3n de Aviaci\u00f3n Civil Internacional que recicla el carbono en lugar de agregarlo a la atm\u00f3sfera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercedes detalla que m\u00e1s de una cuarta parte de las emisiones generadas por el equipo se producen a ra\u00edz de la aviaci\u00f3n. Por ello, este paso reducir\u00e1 de manera significativa el impacto que se genera tras viajar de un lugar a otro, sobre todo por el hecho de que en varias partes del calendario se deben recorrer grandes distancias entre una carrera y otra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abLa compra de este combustible se implementar\u00e1 como parte de las emisiones indirectas de aviaci\u00f3n de Alcance 3\u00bb, afirma la escuder\u00eda alemana, donde proyecta lograr una disminuci\u00f3n que ronde el 50% de las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono, al mismo tiempo en que compensar\u00e1n de otras formas el resto de las emisiones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
