La reducci\u00f3n de emisiones en el transporte mar\u00edtimo tambi\u00e9n se ha convertido en uno de los objetivos fundamentales para proteger al planeta frente a la amenaza del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distintas instituciones y empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas trabajan de la mano para publicar regulaciones y presentar avances tecnol\u00f3gicos, con la meta de descarbonizar el transporte naval. Por ejemplo, la Organizaci\u00f3n Mar\u00edtima Internacional, una agencia de las Naciones Unidas responsable de regular el transporte mar\u00edtimo, design\u00f3 el Mar B\u00e1ltico como un \u00c1rea de Control de Emisiones con controles m\u00e1s estrictos para minimizar el impacto ambiental de los barcos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En ese sentido, la compa\u00f1\u00eda ABB una de las l\u00edderes en electrificaci\u00f3n, obtuvo un gran pedido del astillero naval polaco Remontowa Shiprepair Yard para suministrar soluciones integradas de energ\u00eda, automatizaci\u00f3n y propulsi\u00f3n a tres grandes ferries de pasajeros y autom\u00f3viles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como base para electrificar los barcos, la propulsi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica permite la integraci\u00f3n completa de los sistemas y equipos de energ\u00eda a bordo, lo que ofrece ganancias significativas en seguridad, eficiencia y sostenibilidad para los nuevos ferries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potente sistema<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cada veh\u00edculo estar\u00e1 equipado con dos unidades de propulsi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica Azipod de 7,5 MW que ayudar\u00e1n a lograr un alto grado de maniobra y eficiencia en las operaciones portuarias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabe destacar que esta tecnolog\u00eda tiene una capacidad de reducci\u00f3n del consumo de combustible de hasta en un 20% en comparaci\u00f3n con la propulsi\u00f3n tradicional. Una investigaci\u00f3n independiente indica que la propulsi\u00f3n Azipod ofrece ahorros de combustible y emisiones para ferries que podr\u00edan ascender a casi $1,7 millones de d\u00f3lares y 10.000 toneladas de emisiones de CO2 por barco al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al integrar motores multicombustible con energ\u00eda de bater\u00eda, el Power and Enery Management System (PEMS) de ABB equilibra el uso de las diferentes fuentes de energ\u00eda a bordo, lo que permite obtener mayores ganancias en la eficiencia operativa y, como resultado, reducir las emisiones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los tres ferries tambi\u00e9n utilizar\u00e1n la conexi\u00f3n Shipside Shoreside de ABB para acceder a la energ\u00eda suministrada desde tierra, lo que permitir\u00e1 mayores reducciones de emisiones, tambi\u00e9n se beneficiar\u00e1n del monitoreo y diagn\u00f3stico de equipos remotos para mejorar la seguridad de los pasajeros y los barcos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
