Erick Ritter: The pilot. Team Vesco Racing: The Team. Both worked together to win the World Speed Record aboard an electric vehicle after reaching 568 kilometers per hour (353 mph), demonstrating all the power that can be extracted from a car powered by electricity.

In his daily life, Ritter works as a truck mechanic. Repairing hydraulic leaks, replacing engines and keeping vehicles in perfect way is part of his activities. However, few know the milestone that he reached on October 1, 2021, although the best is yet to come, as he ensures that he’ll try to reach 400 mph.

A New York native with a passion for racing and also a motorcycling, Ritter has been with the team for years, where he helped build the first “Turbinator”. He joined Team Vesco Racing in 2008, being one of the most suitable to take on the challenge of 400 mph, in addition to holding the World Speed Record, because he has recorded 17 occasions where he has reached 300 mph.

Team Vesco Racing placed at Erick’s disposal the “Turbinator II”, a powerful vehicle with 5,000 horsepower, 16,000 revolutions per minute, 21-inch wheelbase, 36-foot length, 4,950 pounds and Mickey Thompson 24.5 x 7.50-16 Spl. Bonneville.

Under an imposing natural setting, burning sun and a whole team of workers, Ritter and Team Vesco Racing registered 353 mph in just over a minute, maintaining a constant speed, making history aboard an electrified vehicle.
