ERA Championship is the first and only 100% electric single-seater youth category that was born with the aim of promoting the talent of drivers in their sporting, personal and professional growth stages.

After debuting in style in 2022, the series is preparing to face its second season by announcing that it will award a scholarship valued at 150,000 euros. In this way, drivers who opt for it will have the opportunity to win a fully paid seat for the upcoming campaign.

The scholarship has been named the Next Gen Racer, which seeks to fund the talent of those best suited to compete in the ERA Championship Series Europe 2023.

To qualify for the funding they must attend a testing session to be held at the Pau-Arnos racecourse in Pau-Arnos, France from November 16-18 and 21-22.
Those interested in keeping the seat must be 16 years of age by March 1, 2023 and have an international D license (or equivalent), as well as some competitive experience in karting or automobiles.

“Test sessions in the Software AG ERA Championship have the added benefit that the driver who shows the most potential will be offered a full-season scholarship for their 2023 Europe Series,” ERA Championship claims in its official release.

The championship says they are looking for more than just a fast driver, as it aims to evaluate different aspects of competition such as energy regeneration, intelligent driving, energy management, progress capability, learning, coaching and media training.

About ERA Championship

Software AG ERA Championship is the world’s first all-electric junior formula racing series. As the motorsport and automotive environment becomes increasingly committed to an electric future, ERA offers an accessible electrified racing platform, creating opportunities for drivers, mechanics, engineers and emerging teams to move into electric racing as early adopters, while inspiring technical innovation.

The first racing season launches in 2022 as an International Series in Europe. All drivers will compete aboard the ERA “Mitsu-Bachi” F110e, an F4 chassis built by Dome in Japan. The single-seaters will have Michelin tires. ERA Championship is part of the Belgium-based motorsports group, The Driving Force, based in Zonhoven and the Zolder circuit.
