E-Bike Grand Prix will promote Sustainable Programs in each Host City

Working alongside host cities worldwide and showcasing E-Bike technology are among the key objectives of the E-Bike Grand Prix (EBK GP), a new branch of international sustainable cycling which has everything to position itself globally, while at the same time leaving a green footprint on every place it visits.

Through an official press release, the category has revealed a strategic partnership withRicardo, an environmental consulting firm,in order to promote a sustainable mobility program that encourages, teaches and promotes ecological practices to preserve the planet for the near future, but starting today.

The program will be called STM and will aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve ecological mobility and air quality at each city hosting the E-Bike Grand Prix. To this end, Ricardo will be a key participant in the overall goal that EBK GP wants to leave as a legacy.

The environmental consultant will deliver accurate reports on how to act, monitoring and verifying every opportunity that can be seized, beyond those already established generally (Paris Agreement or local action plans). In addition, Ricardo will also be in charge of verifying that the organizing teams of the bicycle division comply with the required standards regarding sustainable events.

For the moment, it is known that Ricardo will act in South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, since they are the only confirmed (for now) venues to compete. Each city will have its own space to contribute in a green way, where it will be verified at the end of the program whether they have fulfilled their STM commitments, and if so, will be recognized through the Sustainable Mobility Beacon City Award.

About E-Bike Grand Prix

The EBK GP series is a dynamic new global sports property that combines e-sports and real-world opportunities with equality, technology and sustainability at its core. Ten events, each held in a different global host city, will witness live sports drama theater enacted throughout the one-hour Criterium-style race.

It is a worldwide competition with ten teams comprising two squads of professional cyclists, one male and one female, all racing for a prize: to be the EBK Grand Prix Series 2022 champions.
