The Korean giant of electric vehicle battery production, Samsung SDI, kicked off 2022 with a bang by announcing the new PRiMX range, Prime Battery for Maximum Experience.

Under the premises of absolute quality, exceptional performance and proven advantage, the company plans to set a new quality standard within the automotive industry.

According to Samsung, it is the safest and most reliable battery ever manufactured due to major quality reinforcements throughout the production chain. It features strict quality controls, exhaustive selection of materials and design that improves the quality of the battery.

Components

Although the Asian firm has not specified all the materials contained on the new PRiMX, it is known that it includes a cathode with a high Nickel content, and a Silicon anode with a high capacity, allowing greater autonomy for electric cars and greater power for electric tools.

Described as a “proven advantage,” the battery assures user convenience achieved with the company’s independently developed technology. In particular, the super-fast charging innovation pioneered using a new technique is said to be an unprecedented breakthrough for minimizing lithium-ion transport distance and time by reducing resistance within the battery cell.

Michael Son, Executive Vice President of Samsung SDI’s Strategic Marketing Team noted that PRiMX is a battery brand that conveys the company’s unique identity, so they will develop the brand to reach the highest level of technology.

In addition, the organization detailed that the new product will encompass all types of batteries manufactured and will produce in the future, including solid-state batteries.

For PRiMX, the trademark registration was completed not only in Korea but also in Europe, and will soon be registered in the United States. In that sense, Samsung will apply these advances to all the batteries produced to achieve excellence.
