Formula E World Champion Jake Dennis won the opening race of the double-header at the Diriyah E-Prix, overcoming the disappointment of ninth place in Mexico with a resounding victory by the second largest margin of victory in series history.

Dennis started third on the grid, but deftly handled the slippery track conditions and two of his most experienced rivals started ahead of him in a defiant demonstration of his world champion credentials.

Dennis finished 13.289 seconds ahead of the only two-time Formula E champion, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS PENSKE), a rare achievement in Formula E where most podium finishes are usually within a single second.

Starting from pole position Julius Bär, Vergne held an early lead, but a slip gave Dennis the advantage and Vergne was unable to put pressure on the reigning champion, who pulled away, with Vergne eventually taking second place.

Cassidy Wins Day 2

Jaguar TCS Racing driver Nick Cassidy took his first win of season 10 in Diriyah, marking his 50th Formula E race and becoming the only driver to achieve podium finishes in all three races so far this season in the ABB FIA Formula E ABB World Championship.

Cassidy started third and kept pace with leaders Robin Frijns (Envision Racing) and Oliver Rowland (Nissan Formula E Team), who started in Julius Bär Pole Position.

Cassidy’s tactical approach paid off as he navigated through the first round of ATTACK MODE activations, taking the lead. Once in front, Cassidy built a 2.5-second lead, executing his second mandatory 50 kW ATTACK MODE pulse with precision.

Despite relentless pursuit from Frijns and Rowland, who were less than a second apart in the final stages of the race, Cassidy maintained his lead and crossed the finish line with confidence.

Frijns’ second-place finish marked a return to the podium after a break since his last appearance in New York City two seasons ago. Rowland, who rounded out the podium in third place, earned his first top-three result since Seoul in Season 8.
