The world’s major manufacturers are renewing themselves at all levels. It is no longer just about making luxurious electric cars with great power and autonomy, but also focus their efforts on promoting micromobility.

One of the tangible examples of this strategy is the new product launched by Toyota. The C + walk T, a three-wheeled vehicle that can operate as an electric scooter, scooter, transporter, among others.

It is designed for scenarios such as large facilities; airports or shopping malls, especially for security work or to be used by older people with walking difficulties, although it is suitable for all types of users who can drive it both sitting and standing.

Toyota assures that it is easy to operate. It has a low, flat base only 150 mm high for easy boarding and descent. It is intended to be comfortable to use, facilitating travel and side-to-side communication with other pedestrians. Actually, besides being environmentally friendly, the vehicle occupies a similar amount of space as a single person and travels at the typical speed of a human being.

Mechanics

The accelerator levers of the C + walk T, located on each side of the steering wheel, allow you to control the start, acceleration, deceleration and stop. Just press to move forward and release to stop. There are brakes on both sides of the control knob, as well as a reverse button.

Also, an instrument panel displays the speed being driven and the charge level of the removable Li-ion battery, which can be fully charged up in two and a half hours by using an included 100 V AC charging device.

The vehicle also comes with a rate-of-turn control function that detects the steering angle and restricts the movement speed. It has a steep downhill detection function, which automatically brakes.

It is also equipped with obstacle detection functions to help avoid collisions with other objects or pedestrians ahead, issuing a visual and audio alert. And if that were not enough, Toyota equipped the C + walk T with puncture-proof tires, removing many worries to users.
