CEO of eSC: racing and micro-mobility have grown rapidly because it is a requirement for people

In his intervention during the Green Racing Virtual Summit, Hrag Sarkissian (Co-Founder & CEO of eSC) explained that racing and micro-mobility are spaces that have grown very rapidly because it is a requirement for people who need a new transportation mode.

The Electric eSkootr Championship (eSC) was launched to help the people to use the scooters properly to influence safety and technology. In addition, they want to provide micro-mobility solutions for society and for a cleaner world.

Notably, the serie counts with the support of Lucas Di Grassi, a Formula E champion, as its sustainability ambassador.

Sarkissian highlighted that eSC believes that mobility and motorsport will be electric in the future, nevertheless, he thinks sports need to be accessible and inclusive.

“Relevance and accessibility are the two key words. You can already see 4-5 years old childrens using electric things, this is something important and something we want to amplify. For sports, racing or a championship you have to spread awareness and it needs to be accessible, close to the people“.

“We want the young generation to be inspired to become the next eSC champion. This is how to connect,” said Sarkissian.

The start of the championship

About the eSC eSkootr Championship, Sarkissian said that there is no secret because of Covid, being the pandemic a situation to consider. For that reason, they didn’t launch such an important competition without attendance.

“Everything we are doing is about fan engagement, the interaction between the fans and community. For 2022 we are going to work on a full blocked calendar with eight to ten rounds.”

Despite Covid-19 postponing the competition, the CEO of eSC thinks that the ecosystem has grown more quickly because pandemic has made everything more relevant and urgent.
