Berlin has been the only ever-present venue on the ABB FIA Formula E ABB World Championship calendar, and will soon enter its 10th Season.

Apart from a street circuit in Germany’s capital, used in Season 2, the all-electric championship has raced around the iconic Tempelhof Airport on 17 occasions, on a variety of layouts.

In addition to hosting the Berlin E-Prix, the venue became a unique destination for the championship when it held six races over nine days during the pandemic at the end of Season 6.

New Layout

The most recent layout used in 2023 was a 2.355km track that generated an incredible 362 overtakes over the two days of racing, including eight different race leaders, which was a new record for Formula E. For 2024, Berlin features a longer Circuit and even more corners.

During two days of action on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, Formula E will compete on the modified 2.585 km track with 15 impressive corners and several longer straights.

The changes came about as a result of development work at Tempelhof Airport, and Formula E track designers took the opportunity to create a new layout for the circuit.

Tempelhof is already a challenge for the drivers due to the abrasive track surface, which means they have to take care of their Hankook tires on the asphalt. However, this improved layout also means that drivers will have to juggle even more technical elements, faster racing and energy management.

Fans can still enjoy all the specialties the Berlin round has to offer, including live music performances, race simulations on the infield and much more.

The famous podium was also relocated for Season 10, moving to the heart of the Allianz Fan Village so everyone can be part of the drivers’ winning celebrations.

Tickets go on general sale from Thursday, November 30, 2023.
